Parent of Teens Support Groups
Along with joining the EPIC Community, here are some other parent group and sessions you might find helpful:
EPIC Online Meet Ups a regular place for parents and carers of young people to meet and gain strategies, knowledge and connection. The meetings are created by parents with lived experience of caring for a young person in crisis, for parents and carers of young people aged 12-25 who are facing challenges. The meetings are connecting, informative, interactive.
EPIC Walks /coffee are all about connection for parents of teens. We walk, talk, listen, laugh, cry and relax. With so much going on in our daily lives it’s important for us all with troubled teens to take a moment to share, unwind a little and realise we are not on this journey alone.
SDECC (Sydney Drug Education and Counselling Centre) has excellent programs to inform and support parents and carers of young people who are engaging with alcohol and other drugs. The 6 session Paving Ways course is highly recommended by EPIC parents and members, a therapeutic group for parents/carers who are experiencing the effects of their child’s/dependant’s problematic alcohol and/or drug use.
Family Drug Support Hold workshops and provide up to date information on all aspects of alcohol and drug use relative to the families of alcohol and other drug users.
The Northern Centre hold Tuning Into Teens programs in English, Korean and Mandarin.
